Projects
Projects represent individual applications or products in Autheona. Each project has its own access tokens, validation rules, and analytics.
Project Types
There are two types of projects:
Production Projects
- Used for live applications
- API calls count toward your account quota
- Real validation and analytics tracking
Sandbox Projects
- Used for testing and development
- API calls do not count toward quota
- Full feature access for integration testing
There is no limit on creating production or sandbox projects.
Creating a Project
- Go to the Projects page
- Click the plus button
- Enter project details:
- Name - Identify your project
- Description - Optional details about the project
- Environment - Select Production or Sandbox
- Click the project creation button
The project is created immediately and you will be redirected to the project page.
Project Settings
Access project settings by clicking the Settings button on the project page. Settings open in a modal with multiple sections:
Overview Section
Update basic project information:
- Project Name - Edit the name
- Description - Add or update the optional description
Changes are saved automatically as you type.
Access Tokens Section
Create and manage API access tokens for this project.
See Access Tokens documentation for details.
Project Rules Section
Configure validation rules that apply when the API is called for this project. Rules let you customize what gets checked and what gets blocked.
High Risk Section
Delete the project if needed.
Deletion Process:
- Click the delete button
- A modal appears with instructions
- Enter the confirmation text (shown in the modal)
- Confirm deletion
What Happens After Deletion:
- Project is soft deleted immediately
- Data is retained for 30 days in case of accidental deletion
- Contact us within 30 days to recover the project
- After 30 days, the project and all its data are permanently deleted
- Permanent deletions cannot be recovered
Managing Multiple Projects
All projects under your account share the API call quota. You can distribute calls across projects however you need.
Use the projects dropdown in the top navigation to quickly switch between projects.
Project Dashboard
The project dashboard displays analytics for your project's API calls. This is the default view when you open a project.
Overview Metrics
Four key metrics at the top of the dashboard:
- Total Email Insertions - Total number of email validation requests
- Successful Insertions - Validations that completed successfully
- Failed Insertions - Validations that failed or errored
- Success Rate - Percentage of successful validations
Charts and Visualizations
Email Insertion Trends Chart
- Shows volume of email validations over time
- Visualizes growth and usage patterns
Checkup Success Rate Chart
- Displays success vs failure rate over time
- Helps identify reliability trends
Top 10 Domains by Checkup Volume Chart
- Most frequently validated email domains
- Identifies your primary user base
Email Checkup Metrics
Additional metrics for checkup operations:
- Total Email Checkups - Total validation checks performed
- Successful Checkups - Checkups that completed successfully
- Failed Checkups - Checkups that failed
- Unique Domains Count - Number of distinct email domains validated
Data Tables
Domain Performance Table
- Shows performance statistics per domain
- Includes success rates and validation counts
Email Checkup Details Table
- Detailed log of validation requests
- Individual checkup results and timestamps
Time Range Selection
View analytics for different periods:
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days
- Last 3 months
- Last 1 year
- Last 2 years
- Last 5 years
Select the range that fits your analysis needs.
Data Export
Data download features are not currently available. If you need to export analytics data, contact us at hello@autheona.com.
