A few weeks ago, we announced that a major update was on the way. Today, that update is live.
What started as a response to early user feedback quickly became something much bigger. Instead of improving individual pieces, we decided to rebuild the platform from the ground up. The result is a faster, more capable, and more flexible version of Autheona that lays the foundation for everything we want to build in the future.
Almost every part of the platform has changed.
The backend has been completely rewritten to make the platform more reliable, easier to extend, and better prepared for future capabilities. The frontend has also been redesigned from scratch with a cleaner interface, improved navigation, and a more consistent experience throughout the application.
This is the largest update we have shipped since Autheona was created.
Our API has a new name. What was previously known simply as the Autheona API is now the Intelligence API.
The new name reflects what the platform has become. It is no longer just an API for evaluating policies. It is an Intelligence User Trust API that helps applications make smarter trust decisions with greater flexibility and context. While the name has changed, our focus has not. The goal remains the same: helping developers build secure, trustworthy applications with confidence.
One of the biggest improvements is the policy engine itself. Previous versions evaluated policies as a sequence of linear rule checks. While that worked well for simple use cases, more advanced scenarios often required unnecessary complexity.
The new engine introduces support for complex if-then policy structures, allowing policies to express conditions, branches, and decision paths much more naturally. We have also introduced policy references. Policies can now build upon other policies instead of duplicating the same logic across multiple definitions. This makes policies easier to maintain, easier to understand, and significantly more reusable.
Together, these changes make the policy engine far more expressive while keeping policies clean and manageable.
This release includes far more than the headline features. Across the platform, countless improvements have been made to performance, usability, developer experience, and the overall architecture.
Some of these changes are immediately visible. Others work quietly behind the scenes to make the platform faster, more reliable, and easier to build on in the future. This release is the new foundation for everything that comes next.
Autheona now has an entirely new visual identity.
Every visual element has been reconsidered to better represent where Autheona is today and where it is heading next.
If you already have an Autheona account, you do not need to create a new one.
Simply sign in and continue using the platform. Your existing account remains valid, and you can immediately access the new version.
We have also updated our pricing plans as part of this release. However, existing users are not affected by these changes. Your current plan and pricing remain exactly as they were.
This release exists because of the people who used the first version of Autheona and took the time to share thoughtful feedback.
